The Early College Initiative at CUNY (ECI) designs, develops and supports schools that make earning a college degree more accessible, affordable, and attainable. ECI promotes social and economic mobility by restructuring the educational experience for students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Students have the opportunity to graduate from high school with up to two years of college credit – at no cost to students and their families. Schools are created and sustained through a deep and meaningful relationship with a City University of New York College (CUNY) institution and provide academic and social supports to help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in college courses while they are in high school and beyond.
